2023 Veterinary Technician of the Year

Jessica Poli

Congratulations to Jessica Poli, the 2023 Michigan Veterinary Technician of the Year

Jessica was nominated by Jessica Tundo, who wrote:

"Jessica a not just an LVT—she has also been an extremely successful practice manager and has been moving into regional practice operations management as well.

When I was new to the field a few years ago, she took me under her wing and showed me how a respectful, compassionate, empathetic, business-minded, future-focused, sustainability-driven, best-practices-demanding, strong female leader and role model could make immense positive change. Over the years I’ve known her, she has become a close friend and confidant, trusted medical and personnel advisor, and is a sunshine-bringer to clients, patients, and fellow veterinary community members. Jessica has proven she’s a fierce ally to new grads and seasoned vets alike and seeks to hear and advocate for ALL voices in our community at a time when we need it most. I’ve never encountered a person so sustainability- and strategically- driven to solve the staffing, financial, and other challenges plaguing our field… from supporting existing members of the field so they can stay longer, to recruiting new folks with brilliant perspectives to strengthening relationships between people working in hospitals and veterinary manufacturing/distribution.

Amidst all the crazy, hectic, chaotic, painful, beautiful, heart-breaking, and heart-warming moments, and the never-ending to-do lists that we can all relate to, Jess always follows through. She is grounded in her family, sense of purpose, and ethics. She represents the best of us now, and what we could become. Jessica Poli is undoubtedly Michigan’s Vet Tech of the Year."
