The President chairs all board meetings, oversees strategic initiatives, and delivers the annual address at the Fall Conference — shaping the future of veterinary technology across Michigan.

President-Elect

Step into leadership and grow your influence.

The President-Elect is the perfect fit for a motivated technician ready to learn the ropes of association leadership. You’ll collaborate closely with current leaders, help shape MAVT communications, and prepare to guide the association as the next President. Ideal for someone with vision, curiosity, and a passion for elevating our profession. This is a three-year leadership journey that transitions from President-Elect to President, then Past President.

Past President

Vice President

The Corresponding Secretary curates and shares the voice of MAVT through The Vet Tech Insider, our quarterly newsletter. If you love writing, editing, and connecting people through stories and updates, this is your creative outlet. You’ll also collaborate with businesses and sponsors to highlight their support and ensure every member stays informed and inspired.

Recording Secretary

The organized communicator who keeps MAVT running smoothly.

If you love detail, accuracy, and collaboration, the Recording Secretary role was made for you. You’ll keep meeting minutes, manage membership data, and ensure every board decision is documented and accessible. Bonus points if you enjoy seeing data tell a story — you’ll also report on membership growth and trends while helping with conference registration and member engagement.

Treasurer

The detail-driven leader who keeps MAVT financially strong.

If spreadsheets make you smile and you take pride in accuracy and transparency, this role is for you. The Treasurer manages MAVT’s budget, tracks expenses, and ensures every dollar supports our mission. You’ll also collaborate with other board members on financial decisions and help plan budgets for conferences and events — an excellent fit for someone who enjoys both structure and strategy.
